Chemical Bank Announces New Transitions for Cadillac Community Bank

Jon Catlin, Community President for Chemical Bank is pleased to announce leadership changes for the Cadillac Community Bank family with the appointment of Sharilyn  Booms to Commercial Lender and Assistant Vice President ; Mary Jo Shivlie transferring as Branch Manager to the McBain Office at 101 North Roland Street;Deborah Ballard appointed to Assistant Vice President andBranch Manager of the Cadillac Downtown Office at 302 South Mitchell Street, and Kris Bowen’s retirement.  

Sharilyn Booms has been promoted toCommercial Lender and Assistant Vice President. Booms will manage a portfolio of existing business and commercial banking accounts. She will also be responsible for increasing deposit and loan amounts while maintaining solid credit quality in and around the McBain and Lake City communities.  Booms has been with Chemical Bank since 1985 and brings over 29 years of experience in the financial services industry.  She is a graduate of Lake City Area High School and serves as a Committee Member for the Missaukee County Relay for Life as well as the Lake City Area Chamber of Commerce.

“Sharilyn’s move into her new position as Commercial Lender is a direct result of the leadership, hard work, and dedication she has applied throughout her career with Chemical Bank,” stated Catlin. “Her knowledge of the local communities and customers make her a perfect fit for this role.”

Mary Jo Shivlie will be transferring to the Branch Manager position at Chemical Bank’s McBain Office. Shivlie will manage branch assets, goals, commitments and staff and will develop customer relationships in and around the McBain and Lake City areas.  Shivlie has been with Chemical Bank since 1980 and brings over 34 years of experience in the financial services industry.  She is also a graduate of Lake City Area High School and most recently served as Branch Manager for Chemical Bank’s Cadillac Downtown Office prior to her current role.

“Mary Jo will provide great insight and guidance for the McBain team through her previous experience managing our Cadillac Downtown Office,” Catlin stated. “We wish her continued success at our McBain Office.”

Deborah Ballard hasbeen appointed to succeed Mary Jo as Assistant Vice President and Branch Manager for the Cadillac Downtown Office. Shewill manage branch assets, goals, commitments and staff as well as develop customer relationships in and around the Cadillac community. Ballard brings over 37 years of experience in the financial services industry and is a graduate of Johannesburg-Lewiston High School.

Active in the community, Ballard currently serves as a Fund Raising and Event Planning Committee Board Member for the Wexford Habitat for Humanity as well as the Event Coordinator for the Kids Hope USA Partnership with the Cadillac Christian Reform Church and Lincoln School. She is also a member of the Mercy Hospital Cadillac Foundation Power of the Purse event.

“Deb Ballard brings many years of customer service experience to Chemical Bank,” commented Mary Withers, Vice President and Retail Sales Manager for Chemical Bank. “Her extensive knowledge of the community makes her a great asset to our customers.”Ballard served as Branch Manager for 14 years with Fifth Third Bank in Cadillac, and over 6 years as Branch Manager of Firstbank before joining the Chemical Bank team.

Finally, Kris Bowen has retired from Chemical Bank. With more than 40 years of dedicated service to Chemical Bank, Bowen is looking forward to spending more time with her family and friends. Most recently, she served as First Vice President and Commercial Lender. Chemical Bank wishes Kris a very happy retirement! Catlin stated, “We are sad to see Kris go, but are extremely thankful for her many years of dedicated service to Chemical Bank and our customers.”
