Baker College of Cadillac will host College Goal Sunday, 2-4 p.m., Feb. 8, to help potential college-bound students and their parents complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form on time. It will be held at the Baker College Academic Resource Center, 9600 E. 13th St., Cadillac.

The event is free of charge and open to all high school seniors, whether or not they have identified their colleges of choice. Attendees will have the opportunity to compete for a College Goal Sunday $1,000 scholarship to the school of their choice.

On College Goal Sunday at Baker College of Cadillac, student financial aid experts will be available to guide attendees through each step of completing and filing the FAFSA. The FAFSA is required of any student seeking financial aid including grants, loans and many scholarships.

Students under 23 years of age are encouraged to attend with a parent or guardian. Parents and students should bring their completed 2014 Federal tax returns (1040) or their W-2 and 1099 forms. Visit to retrieve a Federal Student Aid personal identification number prior to the event.

College Goal Sunday is a collaborative effort of the Michigan Department of Education, the Michigan Department of Treasury, the Michigan Student Financial Aid Association and EduGuide. The program was created to increase the number of students who continue education beyond high school and earn post-secondary degrees.
